For dentists registered with the Dental Council of Ireland, CPD is today an ethical obligation under the Council's Code, and you don't submit records. The Government has approved plans to make it a legal requirement for dentists, but no law is in force yet.

  • Hours: the Council recommends at least 50 hours a year (at least 20 structured) and at least 250 hours over five years (at least 100 structured).
  • Records: keep your CPD records for at least five years; this may change if the law changes.
  • Approval: the Council paused its direct approval of CPD activities from 1 January 2020.

Enhanced CPD Pro's CPD reports are DCI-compliant for audits. This does not mean the Council has approved or endorsed Enhanced CPD Pro.
