What CPD do I need to restore my GDC registration?

The CPD a dentist needs to restore GDC registration depends on how long they have been off the register.

It depends on how long you have been off the register. For dentists, the GDC asks for:

Time off the register CPD needed
Less than 12 months a CPD declaration; no evidence to submit
12 months to under 5 years verifiable CPD certificates for the pro-rata hours since your current cycle began, a CPD activity log and a PDP
More than 5 years, or removed for CPD reasons five years of CPD evidence

Dental care professionals should check the GDC's guidance for their own title.

  1. Work out how long you have been off the register.
  2. Gather the evidence for your band from the table above.
  3. Follow the GDC's restoration process for your title.

Our GDC Restoration Service helps you catch up on the CPD you need and compile it into audit-compliant reports: see pricing.
